Coming to Brussels

AgriBrussels is organizing these visits for anybody interested in farming:

»   Group or individual visit.

»   For public or private entities.

»   For students or workers…

The proportion of such gatherings will undoubtedly increase in agricultural training programs, which are of the utmost importance in the current turbulent and competitive environment. These gatherings and meetings will also be helpful in guiding the farmers or any other agricultural actor (advisors, industrialists…) or those willing to become one of those, to get a correct assessment of the situation and a clear outlook in order to confirm their investment or direction choices.

These meetings and gatherings are fully customizable, depending on your requests:

» There are various themes to address: CAP, markets management, GMO, animal welfare, organic farming…

» Your goals: training, lobbying, formation, feedback / reaction to a decision…

AgriBrussels is a Non Profit Association, and as a result, its fees are really attractive. In most cases, AgriBrussels also meets the criteria which allow you to benefit from agricultural training fundings. In addition, we are able to guide you on your accommodation and restaurants choices, as well as any other activity such as an agricultural exploitation visit, or even book or organize them ourselves, so that your visit is the most profitable and most carefree for you, and really the most cost effective.

Visit Farms

A farm tour is a rich and unforgettable experience.

AgriBrussels is offering you a tour service which allows you to visit and meet the farmers right in their farms.

Visits are available for:

» Any group of people working for a European Organization or Institution.

» Any group of people interested in agriculture and traveling to Brussels.

» Any school group seeking an introduction to the farming world and to where their food come from.

» Anyone wishing to visit individually, or with his family, a farm for an entire day.

The kind of farm available to visit is determined depending on the season, but mainly depending on your requests. We will escort you, but we think it is important that the farmer or one member of his family serves as your guide during these tours.

Farm Internship

Farm internship can be arranged, and is open to everyone, and not restricted only to the staff of the DG Agri…

These internships will of course be arranged according to your needs. Your farmer hosts will be volunteers. They will receive you with a great hospitality because they understand that after your stay in their exploitation, you will take the best and most positive decisions for them and their children.

According to your interests, the internship may focus on various exploitation types: livestock, crops, fruits and vegetables…

We can organize the internship, and we can also set up the accommodation, the transportation and any other activities you would like to do. In any case, we always guarantee you our best possible prices.

Meet among Yourselves

Are you operating on the agricultural sector, and willing to meet other farmers from various areas or fields?

For an internship or a group tour?

A themed or leisure travel in the farming world?

Through its multiple contacts, AgriBrussels may help you realize your project, or even fully execute it for you.

Who Are We?

Hello everybody, welcome to AgriBrussels’ Website.

My name is Xavier Bourgeois, I’m 30 and I’m from Jodoigne, a town located 50 km Southeast of Brussels

I graduated in agriculture and am working since my childhood in the family farm currently run by my uncle. My uncle is fattening Belgian Blue double-muscled young bulls in this farm, and we’re also planting cereals, sugar beets, chicory and flax. After the decoupling of the CAP funding related to young bulls, and considering the low profitability of this production, we decided in 2006 to decrease the cattle livestock by half. This freed some time that I took advantage of to become a technical sales representative in cattle food for a couple years and a cattle food trainer for young, starting up farmers.

Besides, I was Vice-President of the Young Farmers Federation (FJA) in Wallonia for 4 years. I was particularly assigned on international cases. That’s the reason why I became an active member of the European Council of Young Farmers (CEJA) from 2004 to late 2008. This experience allowed me to get involved in numerous meetings and conferences in Brussels, which were really interesting, and helped me to create a large and broad network of contacts. For this reason, I decided to launch AgriBrussels.

I hope that this website meets all your expectations. Please know that I hope, and with a great pleasure, that we will work together.

Sincerely,

Xavier Bourgeois
